    easy upgrade guide.

not sure if others exist but here's mine. let me know if it was helpful.

my upgrade was a sweet process.

    - first download the current forum folder on your computer.
    - use ur webhost to backup the current database
    - also use vb admincp to backup the forum database.
(just to make sure.. having two backups won't hurt).
    - rename the current forum folder. add some phrases like "forumOld" or something.
    - open the config.php file in 350 after extracting. change the information. you only need master database info. ignore the slave database.
    - create a new folder in your server and name it as the old forum folder. upload the 350 files in it.

cross your fingers and run the upgrade script. it should be fine if you followed the above steps.

so once everything works fine, u can delete the "forumOld" cuz its no use anymore..

forgot to add, IF anything goes wrong, all u have to do is rename "forumOld" (however you renamed it) to the orginal and just restore the database.

      thanks floris.

I typically create a new database and import the working database. Then when I edit the config file I use the 'new' database. Then if anything goes wrong, just renaming the forum folder has you back in seconds instead of the time it takes to restore the old database. If everything goes well, delete the old database and the old forum folder and you're done.
