Problem with Attachments... (PPT, PPS, etc) 500 Internal Error

Hi,... I'm using Vbulletin 3.0.0 RC4 with no hacks.
Everything works fine except for attachments.

The non-image files gives an 500 Internal Error

    More Details...
I'm saving the attachments in a directory called 'attachments'
    [not in mysql database.]
The files are uploaded corectly (i think)
    into files with extension ".attach"
    for example:
    • /attachments/1/92.attach
    • /attachments/1/94.attach
    • /attachments/4/1.attach
    • etc
You can attach Image files (GIF, JPG & BMP) AND custom files (PPT, PPS)
The are no problems downloading the Image Files
but when you try to Download the .ppt files or custom files you get an
    500 Internal Server Error

    Aditional Info:
    • This error happens to everybody (admin/moderators & users)
    • There are no problem with file sizes since the limits are high and you get the same error with small & large files
I donĀ“t know if it's a problem with the MIME Types
but i already tried with several options at
Admin CP / Attachments / Extensions & sizes

    List of MIME Types
    .pps application/mspowerpoint
    .pps application/vnd.ms-powerpoint
    .ppt application/mspowerpoint
    .ppt application/powerpoint
    .ppt application/vnd.ms-powerpoint
    .ppt application/x-mspowerpoint

    Any Idea or Suggestion?

500 Internal Error? You are running PHP as CGI instead of an Apache Module? Do you have safe mode on? Also does this happen if they are stored in the database?

What have you entered for rar type files?

As I said before in the .rar thread, you need to see what error is being reported in your web server error log.

Without seeing why your web server is crashing, I can't even begin to say what the reason you can't download an attachment is.
