Over 18 required

I was wondering, how would I go about requiring members to be over 18 without actually affecting the few 17 year olds I have now?

While my board isn't exactly porn material, it does have some content where I would prefer to have the age check in registering not allow under 18.

Is this possible, if so how would I change the age check to 18 instead of 13?

Not sure if such feature exists but you can manually verify each registration, allowing members over 18.

anything you do will not stop people from telling lies about there age so why bother ?

iKwak, yeah I thought about that, and we don't get too many registering so it is fessable, but I would prefer away to change the month and year verification, hehe at least it'd save me some extra in the long run.

Snowy, of course they can lie, doesn't mean I can't at least try does it? Besides, if I thought that way in everything I did *eeek* My kids would certainly be a lot worse off I'd suspect.

Faranth, hmm maybe, but not everyone (myself included) has a paypal account and don't want to force folks to go out and have to get one just to join our community. It's not like we are super special! LOL

right now we have I think 3 under 18, but one will be 18 in a few weeks, and the other 2 are 17 (not positive on the numbers). If there are more, chances are in my next pruning of users they will be weeded out.

I was hoping to be able to change the year acepted in the : "select the month and year of your birthday" part of registration. I found the template/file to change, just have no idea how to change the year.

Once we are 18 and older, then I am pretty sure we can get written consent for just the 2 members that are under.

though my co-admin/co-owner thinks 16 is a good age. *shrugs*
