GD in PHP

I have PHP 4.3.1 and my host say's that from 4.3.0 and above have GD 2 installed, so I MUST have it.

Well, searching throughout php.info screen I cannot confirm that GD is there. (as per instructions in admcp)

If I set my GD settings to 2+ in the adminpanel my picture attachments are still links instead of thumbnails.

Is there any other way to confirm GD is installed???

If it's not in phpinfo, then PHP was not compiled with this support regardless of the version number.
