Displaying Forums in Alphabetical Order

In one of my forms I have a bunch (20 or so) sub-forms, they are set to display #1. I was wondering if there is any way to get these to display in aphabetical order, without have to go in and number them all?

Nope. You'll need to do this manually.

I need this also . Is there a reason why you dont do a "ORDER BY ordernumber ASC, boardname ASC"?

alphabeticaly display forums and sub forums

a few people have asked how you can alphabeticaly sort the forums incliding this thread which is about a year old... But yet there is still no answer on how to do this in 3.0 and higher...

Scenario:

Two forums have the same exact sort order...

The second forumid should alphabeticaly list above the first forumid.

using the sort order in admincp is not the issue, it's how vb handles sorting after it finds the initial display order...

So if two forums have display order of 2 we're interested in listing alphabeticaly from the title as the second choice...

Where is this function located exactly? I cannot locate anything that actually fits the bill in forumdisplay.php but I bet it's in there somewhere.

Am I missing something?

We're not talking about threads here... FORUM sorting...

As stated previously there is no function to sort forums alphabetically. You need to do this manually.
