If you post in a thread, you get a dot in the folder next to the post, right?

If you delete that post, you still have it. Is that a feature or a bug?

I wouldn't say it's a feature or a bug. When you delete a post, it still exists. Only Mods/Admins can see it, though.

So if I truly want to delete my post, the best way would be to edit it blank.

Yes, but you would be annoying everybody by doing so, if you delete posts often.
