    Username in pm

I wanted to pm a few users with a string like:

    Hi $username -

But I it just printed "Hi $username" instead of their screen name -

    What did I do wrong?

Private messages do not accept PHP variables. You would need to send out individual private messages for each name, or generalize the message so it doesn't use names.

You should start your own thread. The last post here was on 6/18/2005.

Include as much detail as possible.

As said, you should start a new thread, but PHP variables are still not accepted in PMs.
