    Setting it up

    Hi,

Once it's on file manager how do I get it to the setting up process? I mean where you enter the forum name and web master and things like that!

    Many Thanks

The installation and configuration instructions can be found in the online manual

Hi Okay Thanks I think I am nearly there there is just one thing I dont understand-In the manual it tells me what I need to put on the end of the URL to get to the setting up process but first of all how do I get my url? What I mean is this-

        My site is www.mysite/-----/install/install.php

What do I put in those lines? How can I get that part?

Where did you upload the vBulletin files?

Did you put them in a folder called forum or forums?

Where in the file Manager? I assume you have a folder called public_html or www where you are putting your files. For example if you put your files in /public_html/forums/ your url will be http://www.yourdomainname.com/forums/ so the url to installation will be

You need to rename the config.php.new file to config.php then edit the file and enter the database name, user and password details. Ifyou don't know this information you host should be able to assist.

Then in your browser you start the installation process.

The image is far too small to make out anything. Can you provide exact details of what you are trying to do?

That looks like cpanels file manager, the easiest way for you to do it using that is to:

Remove the folder you created called Theforums and everything in it.
Upload the zip to public_html and extract it there
Remove everything extracted except the upload folder
Rename upload to whatever directory name you want (forum for example)
Go into that folder then into includes and edit config.new.php
Insert all your settings and then rename it to config.php
                          Visit: www.yourdomain.com/forum/install/install.php to begin setup

Dont forget to remove install.php once setup and don't forget to remove the zip from your public_html directory.

ok so to make it easy move the entire contents of the upload folder to a new folder under
public_html called forums then use the default install link

either way will work (why i love FTP)
