Need help. Database heavily corrupted. Attachment.myi errors

    Hi guys,
I am having some major problems, that hopefully you can help me with.

The server my VB forum is running on managed to crash several times yesterday...heavily corrupting my database...in particular, the 'attachment' table.

I've tried repairing the table from the VB CP as well as from the command line. It has been stuck on the 'attachment' table for about 12 hours now and I'm starting to wonder if its even working at this point.

Is there any way to extract the posts & user etc... data from this corrupted database and then import it into a new clean VB database (minus the attachment table of course). Or am I just screwed.

The database is around 600mb and is running on a dual Xeon server...should it really take more then 12 hours to repair the table?

I don't know how long it should take to repair your attachemnt table.

You don't have a backup from just before the problems started?

not on this particular forum....long story...

All of my other VB boards back up regularly, figures that this would be the one that craps out

12 hours? dang.. how big is your attachment table?

Are you running the repair from the command line?

I would take steps to ensure you can move the attachments out of the database, then do so and backup again.
