    Bandwidth utilization

Since moving from UBB to vB3, I see my average inbound utilization has roughly doubled.

I'm trying to figure out the reason for this. Is it simply that my users are clicking around a lot more? Or is vB sending lots of cookie data with each http request?

Maybe they just like the vBulletin more than the UBB now that you have vB3

I hate the spiders. I don't want my site indexed. But that isn't it. Its *inbound* traffic. The outbound is similar to what it was using UBB.

well first thing then is if you don;t have a robots.txt get one and disallow all useragents

So.. the trafic being sent to your site has increased? Are users using the wisywig and ect?

Have posting rates gone up at all?

Don't really know what the posting rate was under UBB. Its possible. Today's the first weekday vB is in use, so there's no history yet. Its possible they're just busy exploring. But if that's the case, then they're not really posting, they're reading.

So are the requests that are not posts heavy with cookie data?

Well I would think the wysiwyg sends abit more content data to the server in comparsion to plain text or even the standard editor.

About cookie data, I wouldn't know.
