Images not showing - text links instead

Ive just done a few searches and come up with nothing that come close to whats happening for me.

Ive just installed VB with not one hitch, went a smooth as can be.

Everything appears to be working fine so far except for one thing. I have no images. They are all showing as text links.

Ive checked this with my other administrator and she has the same problem. Ive uploaded the buttons and images again and they are all there and all CHMOD to 755 for the image folders and 644 for the images files.

Anyone have any idea where I can start to figure out where all the imgaes are?

        forums/images/misc/whos_online.gif

check that this really does exist.

Im guessing your using Firefox as Firefox doesnt show red x's when an image is a 404 etc. Which is why your seeing text links. Look at the forum using IE if you have Windows.

You might wanna check that your ftp program is uploading images in binary.

I'll bet this is a problem with either the directory or the file permissions:

                Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /images/statusicon/forum_old.gif on this server.

Change CKEditor Colors to Match Style (for 4.1.4 and above)

755 for the image folders and 644 for the images files. is what the permissiopns are set to now. This is correct isnt it? So it must be a directory problem?

It's definitely a permissions problem of some kind. Do you have an htaccess or Mod Rewrite somewhere that may be interfering with the display of your images?

Maybe in the control panel of the server you have disallowed remove viewing of the files
