it sounds like its because of gallery.* isnt granted permission to directly pass variables to forums.*
how is your cookie header set? is it 'forums.techarena.in' or '*.techarena.in' ?

Its because of new secuirty precautions to not allow users to login from external domains.

and forums.domain.com and gallery.domain.com are two totally differnt domains, (thus the reason I rarely use subforums anymore)

You are best off either moving the gallery folder into the forums folder so

      forums.domain.com/gallery IMO

My cookie headers are currently blank "contains nothing".

        Hi Zachery,
is there anyway to make this work ?, putting gallery folder under forums will not look good.

There is a solution for this at vbadvanced.com for vBa CMPS, you could use that for your hack aswell.

I am able to log in from my website http://www.turbobricks.com and it works fine... the board is http://forums.turbobricks.com

In vB options / Cookies and HTTP Header Options i have it set as so:
Path to Save Cookies = /
            Cookie Domain = .turbobricks.com

[edit] Zach, or do you mean the gallery stuff he's using has the security changes causing the problem?

The http referrer in vbulletin only allows you to login post or get requests , perform important tasks related to the forums url setup under vbulletin options.

              Forums are located here: http://forums.techarena.in
              Gallery located here: http://gallery.techarena.in

As the forums URL is setup forums.techarena.in I am not able to login from gallery.techarena.in

Probably, Zachery should help in framing above in a proper technical sentence.

                    Code:
                    define('SKIP_REFERRER_CHECK', true);
risks for XSS-type issue after adding this option under config.php ?

                      Yeah...that's the one I meant.

It's what causes the 'error' that you are describing...no other way around it as far as I know.

I am having the same problem. I have about 3 domains all fan sites that use the same forum and member information. I got VB cause I thought... GREAT... I can use the multi-sites and still use a great forum for it all..

But I have like 17,000 members... and I am getting at least 10 emails daily that says they can not login... and well I have NO CLUE how to help them... I am not techie at all..

So... is there a simple way to do this? Cause I really like VB.. but it seems to be causing more troubles with my members then our other forum...
