Select posts and insert them to existing thread?

Is it possible or is there a mod somewhere which allows me to select some posts from one thread and then merge those posts into another existing thread.

I know I could split a thread and then merge that "temp" thread to that existing thread but that's horribly slow if you have a long thread.

No, that is the only way to move posts from one thread to another.

Yes, I agree that moderation tools are lacking currently; it is that reason why I decided to write the hack you just linked to. It has been rumored that inline moderation tools may become a standard feature in the next major release.
