I want to have my paying members be exempt from my google ads. I can do this if I create a style for them. In fact I want only paying members to be able to change styles at all. Is this possible?
Allow only a certain usergroup to change styles?

Not at this time, however you can exclude paying members from seeing adds if they are in another usergroup. via template conditionals.
Otherwise you will need to hack. -
There is no function to do this. Why not just use tempplate conditionals to hide that ad from the appropriate usergroup(s) instead? Here is the online documentation for using template conditionals:

If they are a secondary usergroup, you'll need to use a differnt statement
Also your $bbuserinfo[] varible is wrong, it should be $bbuserinfo['usergroupid']
!is_member_of($bbuserinfo, 15)Comment

I was looking for the right statement to use on google, and I found this topic, so I said it's no use to ask for help in a new topic.
The statement Zachery provided DannyITR in his answer is not clear to me either, as was not for DannyITR 7 years ago.
What statement should be used to mention a usergoup ??

You either need to change your varible, or use the code I provided.
so if I understand your post correctly its:
<if condition "!is_member_of($bbuserinfo, 15)">
ads here
</if>
Code:!is_member_of($bbuserinfo, 15)
or was the right statement to use (as Danny understood) :
Code:<if condition "$bbuserinfo['usergroupid'] !is_member_of($bbuserinfo, 15)"> ads here </if>
After all, I guess the code was supported by vb3.5, but I don't know if it works for 3.8, because on the 3.8 there should be a = right after condition, while I can't see it on the statements given in this topic.
my question is, what statement to use to make something affect group id 5?
I used :
Code:<if condition="is_member_of($bbuserinfo,5)">
I also used :
Code:<if condition="$bbuserinfo[usedgroupid] !=5">
I used :
Code:<if condition="!is_member_of($bbuserinfo,5)">
Finally I tried to choose all the users belonging to that group with the statement :
Code:<if condition="$bbuserinfo[userid] ==7,12,18,20,55,77">
