Logging In

On my website, which currently has a forum hosted by boardnation, I have been able to create page which allows members to log-in directly to the forum before they actually click the link to it. This is at http://www.brittanyferriesenthusiasts.com/forum.htm

Is it possible to do this here for vbulletin?

Yes that is possible.

First you will want to make sure your cookie settings are not specific to a particular directory:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Cookies and HTTP Header Options -> Path to Save Cookies

Set this to "/", without the quotes.

Then use this HTML code on your web page:

That should work. I pulled the code from vB's login form. Change the red code to point to your forum directory.

After the user logs in, can you make it say "Welcome $username." instead of showing the login form again?

You can pass a redirection URL by adding the blue code:

Most likely you misunderstood. It had already redirected to my site, but I was thinking something different.
You go to a site, you see the login form. You login and it redirects you back to the same page. I was thinking instead of showing the login form again on the same page, showing "Welcome $username".

Ok I can do that code but what is the string thats holding the session cookie and username after login is successful? Or where is that piece of code that says " welcome user...blah blah" before the redirection?
