Show edited by note still showing despite being set to NO

Under the Usergroups manager > edit usegroup options in the Admincp,

there is an option 'Show edited by note on edited messages?' , which can be set to yes or no.

I have set this to No on a specific usergroup , however the users in that group still see the editted by messages in posts which have been editted at least once.

How so ?

Nope.

There is an acknowledged bug about this - essentially, if you put in a reason for the edit, the "edited by" message will always appear. In addition, if a post ever has had an "edit line" appearing, it will always have it.

The bug shows as fixed - so the next release should correct this.

So if there is no reason for the edit filled in, it shouldn't show ?

Mine still does even if there wasnt anything filled in + the usergroup has been set not to show the edited by note.

What gives ?

This is not a retro active feature, as in, if it was there before it will stay there.

The usergroup has had the option set to No all along.
A new post that is edited NOW , will still show the editted by note even though it has been set to No.

They never entered a reason? and they are not apart of any secondary usergroups that might override this?
