measure hits on a specific forum

Hi,

I want to run some advertising campaigns in some specific forums on my board. I'd need hit counters for my advertisers (e.g. like "forum blahblah had 37.456 hits this month").
Can this be done with default means or do I have to include an external counter? Web stats like webalizer do not count different forumdisplay.php parameters unfortunately.

edit: views on threads in this specific forum should be considered as forum hits, too.

I recommend posting a request on www.vbulletin.org . Some one over there might be able to write you a PHP/MySQL based counter. I imagine the counting code could be put into the phpinclude template so it's independant of the files.
