Restore to a new server ?

    Hi,

I have no SSH/Telnet, just PhpMyAdmin.

How to restore 2.3.0 to a new server through PhpMyAdmin ?

    Thx

How big is the database that you're trying to restore? If it's large, there's a good chance that PHP will timeout for you. If that happens, you'll need to contact your host to see if they can restore it for you.

phpMyAdmin --> Click on your database name to the left of your screen --> On the right of your screen click on 'SQL' --> Load up your database.

      14 Mo.

      I'll try that.

In fact, I want to restore 2.3.0 -> 3.0beta7 from server A to server B with the same hoster through PhpMyAdmin. In a first step, I want to try 2.30 -> 2.3.0. I never do that.

      Thanks

If PHP won't let you restore the database all at once you could get into the habit of saving each section seperately in the admin CP.

I do it. Everything (homepage, posts, etc) is OK but I can't access to my CP Admin. I got this error message:

Database error in vBulletin Control Panel 2.3.0:

Invalid SQL: INSERT INTO adminlog (adminlogid, userid, dateline, script, action, extrainfo, ipaddress) VALUES (NULL,'1',1068060248,'index.php','','','64.231.236.177')
mysql error: Table 'mydatabasename_com.adminlog' doesn't exist

I don't understand. My true path is http://www.mydomainname.com/forum2/admin/ and not http://www.mydomainname.com/forum/forum2/admin/

Any idea on this wrong path ?

          thx

You didn't restore the adminlog table.
