    threads - new v unread?

I got the impression that threads would cease being new now if they were read. This dosen't seem to be the case. Can someone explain how the unread/read thing is implemented by sessions i don't really understand it.

You keep the new arrow in the forum display as that is quite useful, but the icon next to the thread changes to a 'read' icon.

      cool - i get it.

Is there a way to get the forum itself to instead of light up for new threads to light up for unread threads? see what i mean? so if i go to a forum and read all the threads it does not light up?
