MySQL db optimizations? Clarify.

I hear the vB 2 database will get optimized. Optimized how? What benefit will this have? -> Faster loading? Better handling of the MySQL connections hence less strain on the server? etc. etc.

Pretty much all of the above!

It has much more optimization in queries and whatnot, so it will have less accessing of the database.
