Problem getting image attachments to work

    Hi,

I’m having an issue with getting image attachments to work; any attempt to upload images bails out with a "The uploaded file is not a valid GIF or JPG file. Please ensure that it is and try again." error. The image files I have used to test are valid and well under the size limits I have set in the CP.

In the control panel I've got 'upload in safe mode' on and the 'safe mode temp directory' set to /tmp. This directory has been set to 777 by my hosting service (hosting4less.com). I've also got the 'allow image size checking faliure' set to yes.

I have copied the phpinfo.php file into the /forum directory. My forum is here: http://63.99.108.232/forum/index.php - I’m having a few DNS / redirection errors, the registered URL is http://www.pinkfishmedia.co.uk/forum/ it kind of almost works occasionally!

The phpinfo file is here http://63.99.108.232/forum/phpinfo.php everything else is working great! The forum went live yesterday currently has 120 users on it.

    Thanks

    Tony.

You have open_basedir restrictions on your server. To get uploads to work you need to create a 'tmp' subdirectory under the '/home' directory and chmod it to 777. Then in the Admin CP set "Upload
In Safe Mode?" to 'Yes' and point the "Safe Mode Temp Directory" to that directory. If you placed the tmp directory in the right place, the path to the Safe Mode Temp Directory will be:

    /home/tmp
