    Forum Dissapeared!?

Today I come in to work and my boss was browsing our forum and everything looked good. I get in about an hour later and the forum.myi is giving problems so I run myisamchk -r on it and thread.myi by mistake. I got back to the forum and now my Off Topic Forum is gone. I then rebuild every myi just to be safe and see if that was the problem. That didnt work so I reuploaded the index.php from my saturday's backup. Still isnt showing up.

Ive gone doen the list of forum ID's by URL and it dosent find my Off Topic Forum, any ideas why this happened or how I can fix it? Thanks!!

What do you mean 'by mistake'? What exactly did you do?

Not so much a mistake. I reindexed all my MYI files. But I ran the thread.myi before the forum.myi (the one that was giving me the error)

And how did you reindex the files?

i ran this line on each MYI file, 1 at a time.

          myisamchk -r filename.myi

Also, I checked the Error file and this is when the problem started, and here is the log file's error.

The -r option is not for reindexing:

-r Can fix almost anything except unique keys that aren't unique.

            Why aren't your running repair.php?

Never knew there was a repair.php. Does it come with 2.2.9? I dont see it.

EDIT: Nevermind, now all my forums are giving me errors.

Upload repair.php (it's in the 'extras' folder of the zip file) to your admin directory. Close your forums, then run it from your browser with this syntax:

                  http://www.yourdomain.com/forum/admin/repair.php?html=1&check=1

[Of course change the exact URL as appropriate for your forums.]

If everything reports 'Ok' then reopen your forums. If not, then run it again. The second time everything should report Ok (except the session table which you can ignore.) See if this fixes the problem.

Is there any way to get rid of this error when running the repair?

Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in...?

Ok, Repair actually made it all the way through.

Here is a pic of the only problem it found.

Off Topic Forum still isnt showing up.

As for the Off-Topic forum - are you sure it still exists? Did you check the settings in the Admin CP?

Its not in there. I checked the Admin Logs and it shows it was never deleted or anything, it just dissapeared...

Im scared to re add to the Off Topic Section because I think it would wipe the old one out.

Unfortunately it may have been damaged beyond repair. Unless you have a database backup there's not much you can do.

But what is the reason this happened, and is it going to happen again?

Should I restore my forum directory or my database?

Should I try to add the Off Topic Section before I try to restore?
