problems with cookies on IP address

Im moving servers and want to FWD all my users to the db on the IP address until the domain goes through. I got the db up and running fine on the new ip address, but cookies arent working. I cant login to the admin center. What should the cookies path be? I tried to put it blank and it doesnt work... I put the IP and nothing works. What could the problem be> Anyone>

This may sound really stupid, but in the config file, are the paths set to the new address and not the old one? Some hosts require you to specify an actual IP address instead of using "localhost".

SkuZZy, as a side note, whenever you get a chance, I'd like to speak to you on AIM or something. Whenever you're free.
