Take a look over at http://vbulletin.org for a free spellchecker hack.

vBulletin use to have a spellchecker feature but the provider (spellchecker.net) started charging for it.

Actually, the beta versions of vBulletin 2.0 had a spellchecker integrated from Spellchecker.net. However due to the fact that their product was unreliable at best and they switched their marketing model to a CPM based spellchecking model at $5.00/CPM, we pulled it from the product before 2.0 shipped as a final product.

Later we published instructions on how to integrate it here for our customers and subsequently multiple hacks have been made available for free.

If you want to purchase Spellchecker.net's service, you can read how to integrate it here: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...threadid=28776
