View count of split thread

After splitting a thread, (moving a post as a new thread), the new thread also has the same post view count as it's parent thread.
Q. Is it possible to adjust this to reflect the actual views the new thread has received?

The update counters didn't fix it.

To do as you are descibing would require hacking. You should ask your question over at http://vbulletin.org and somebody should be able to help you.
