Copy an existing system to a test domain?

I'm still having problems with a new server and now that they have stripped it down and rebuilt it, I need to test it. But I am certainly not going to copy my live system to it again (like a dummy) and be down for 3 days. What I want to do is to create a test domain and copy my live system there for testing purposes. Since I will be using a different domain name, will this glitch up vBulletin? Or is there a simple config entry I can make to keep it comfy in the new domain?

Or would it be easier just to install a fresh copy of vbulletin instead of copying all the files? Then just import the database and run with it?

Are there any known compatibility issues running vBulletin on various servers/control panels?

    Thanks.

Thanks. I used that document when I moved my system (then back again) to my new server. I just wanted to verify that this one entry in index.php is the ONLY one I need to reference the new domain name.

Just change the settings in your ACP for the url to be the test URL...
