I imported a phpbb board with the official importer and it didn't seriously hurt data but it created ALOT of work for me, moreso than any other import from any bord to any other board....I've done about 5different imports before. They all give me some kind of issue but this one was the wordt. I'm trying to avoid that now that I have gone through and got my style working ad forums and categories sorted. Now however, I need to get all the current data from the phpbb board into vb. Anyone have any siggestions how to restore a database without junking all my forum settings that I needed to tweak?
Also, is they style db-based or a css file based? If it's a file then great, but what about my style for vb if it's db-based. I don't want to lose it after working it to the point of a launch.
