i just transferred my board to a new server and everything went perfectly except i can no longer upload avatars either through the admin control panel or through the user control panel. my users and i are getting the following message when attempting to upload an avatar from a file.

There has been an error in the upload. Please ensure that the file has been correctly selected and that the upload has taken place successfully.
adding an avatar via a weblink works no problem. i'm not sure what the problem could be as i haven't changed any settings and everything else works great. any help or ideas?
