    backup/restore certains tables using ssh

My database is over 50mbs in size and I'm moving it to another server and when I tried to do a move it using ssh I get timed out.

So I was wondering what commands do I use to insert say my post table into the database, it's 19mbs and that shouldn't time out and I could just delete it from orignal database and just drop it into the new one after I move the other to the new server. Also is there a way to do backup a table using ssh because using phpmyadmin times out after so long..

    Thanks (hope it made sense)

50 Mbs should not be a problem. What command exactly are you using?

      mysql -u shane -p shane_vbtemp < /home/shane/backup/bk010303.sql

I've tried it on two servers and the same thing happened

Hmmm...and what is the error you are getting? I've never heard of a timeout error when running this from the command line.

This is a server issue. Here are the reasons for the MySQL server going away:

Edit: A bug is keeping me from posting this link. You need top remove the 'amp;' to get this to work.

Yeah timing out (as I said) I'll ask my host what the time out limit is and it must be low since it does it after a minute..

While I wait does anyone know the commands for what I asked in the first post?
