Attach Microsoft Word, Excel, or Powerpoint files

Is there a way I can configure the forum to allow attachments with the following extensions: .ppt, .xls , .doc, and .pdf files in a post?

    Thanks!

Try going to Admin CP-->vBulletin Options-->[Attachments]-->Valid Extensions, and add them there.

Are there any security issues with allowing XLS or DOC files? Does it make my board (2.2.9) vulnerable?

They won't make your board vunerable, but if they contain macro viruses they could put your users at risk.
