you can restore your database backup by running this command from the shell (telnet connection to your server):

    mysql -uusername -p databasename < backupname.sql

replace the bold text with your info... this comes straight out of your config.php file. replace backupname.sql with the name of your backup file.

      sweet...cept

Iam running windows and have no access to a box running linux. Certianly their must be anoter way, how about if I just recreate the tables? I did a backup of everything a few times and in as many ways as I could

the only way to restore a database backup file is through the shell.

The command Jake gave you should work for Windows systems too.

            Jake is their an alternative?

can I recreate the tables individually? my boards were running on db allmadden_org now their on all-madden-net and are updated from .6 to .9 I have 2,700 users getting pissed, I was confident I would be able to do this quickly and effectivly, however I was wrong! I do not have a linux box nor access to a telnet capable machine!

Have you tried running the command Jake gave you? You do not need a Linux box to do this. You do need shell access though. If your host does not provide telnet or ssh access, then the best option is to ask them to restore your backup for you. It should only take them a couple of minutes.

Huh? No one was questioning your license. I asked you if you've run the command Jake gave you.

                  mysql -uusername -p databasename < backupname.sql

You need to start reading my messages closer.

Your run this from the shell command line which you access via telnet or ssh. if you don;t have this access then your best option is to ask your host to do this for you.

You need to upload the backup to your server.
