Search Engine and gzipping dynamic content??

I'm wondering though, how do search engines deal with compressed pages? Will they read them, or simply ignore it as erroneous information?

vBulletin checks the headers sent by the browser to ensure that they can accept gzipping, if not then it doesnt gzip the content.
