My forum 2.2.5 reset to 2.2.1 by itself!!

Hi, i purchased and installed vbulletin 2.2.5 like 2 weeks ago, i created my own style (i wanted my forum to be spanish language), i did it and everything worked ok.

Yesterday i went to my forum and noticed that the site was showing on english, checked everything an apparently was not using my spanish style.

But strangest thing happenend when i went to admin control panel, i get a link telling me that i have to upgrade to 2.2.5 and everything looks as i were using 2.2.1 !!.

I never downloaded or used 2.2.1, how did i get 2.2.1 installed and my style resetted?

I am the only one administering the forum, could i have been hacked?.

When i SSHed to my site using SecureCRT i got an error telling me that the host key has changed and problably my site had been hijacked but support at my hosting company told me "this is not a problem, that happens when the certificate changes", i don't know which certificate they are talking about.

Anyway, i am worried how my forums went from 2.2.5 and my style disappeared!.

Any help would be greatly aprecciated.

    Regards!

      Yes

My spanish template is there, my database is ok, but is almost empty because i am just on testing stage.

One more thing, i have redownloaded and put the vbulletin 2.2.5 on my site but i keep getting 2.2.1 as the version on the footer and on admin control panel i keep getting the message "upgrade to 2.2.5", why is that?.

I will drop and recreate the database but i want to know why?!.

      Thanks.

          Hi

          it's a fresh install of 2.2.5.

Now i have dropped the database and now i don't see version 2.2.1 text anywhere but i got an email telling me:

          "Database error in vBulletin :

Invalid SQL: SELECT template FROM template WHERE title='options' mysql error: Table 'hiprc_vbulletin.template' doesn't exist

          mysql error number: 1146"

I have installed it many time with no problems, don't know why now it's giving troubles.

          Thanks for your help.

is there important data in the current database you need or are you happy reinstalling from scratch ?

            what i'd do is

            1. create new mysql database called i.e. newvbdatabase
            2. create new directory on site called /forums2
            3. upload all vB 2.2.5 php files into /forums2
            4. run /forums2/admin/install.php making sure to click all the step 1... step 2 etc links at the very bottom of each page
            5. setup your admin a/c
            6. delete install.php and upgradeXX.php scripts from /forums2/admin
            7. log into admin panel /forums/admin
            8. setup bburl in options -> general settings to yourdomain.com/forums/

                no probs

once it tests out okay all you need to do is rename the /forum2 to whatever forum name your want i.e. /forums

and then in vB admin panel change the forum bburl in options -> general settings in admin panel

you probably left your upgradexx.php scripts in the admin directory and someone ran the 2.2.1 upgrade script
