Importing messages from a backup that are not in the new db

I had a few months ago an issue which had me lose a certain amount of posts and threads.

I found an old backup that had most of them, which was a 1.x version. With the help of John, I got that version upgraded to an version equal to the one I run on the site.

Is there any tool/script out there that can check what the difference is between 2 tables and create an script that will add the difference to the current db?

I would write my own, but don't have the time for it atm.
