    Problem with avatars.

I have set the limits in the cp as to how big a user's avatar can be, but it appears that my users are still posting avatars larger than I indicated. How can I do to correct this?

Can you post a link to the profile of a user or two that you have found with larger-than-should-be avatars?

The avatar limit is set to 100 x 100 pixels. I have included the links to a couple of profiles that exceed this.

They are using .art and .bmp files for these avatars. I believe I've read about problems with these file formats in the past. I don't know if there's a solution but I'll search around.

All I could find was that this was a bug prior to version 2.02 but had been fixed. Did you upgrade from previous versions? If so, are you sure you uploaded all of the PHP files each time?

Yes, I did upgrade from a previous version and uploaded all PHP files.

I don't know then. I couldn't find any other reported problems with BMP and ART files other than those posted for earlier versions. Maybe one of the developers has an idea.

Not its just that PHP has a problem with defining the "sizes" of bmp files (and .art is AOL and should never be allowed as images).

Why anyone is using bmp or art files for any images on the net needs to have their heads examined.

tell them to switch to gif, jpg and/or png and ban the use of bmp or art files.

Well I never permitted the use of art files, but I did remove the use of bmp files. We will see how this works out.
