How do i make it so guests cant read any threads or access the board unless they reg?

help me out, i noticed on some sites, when you try to read threads it wont allow you to unless you sign in. how do you set your site like this? is there an option in the admin cp to do this or is this a hack? please help me out. I don't want my guests to read threads.

Go to Usergroups => Modify => [edit] Unregistered in the Admin CP.
Set the permissions there so they won't be able to read anything.
