    installing

Im having a problem installing. everything is uploded and running fine. When I run the installation to create tables, I get this:

    Creating table access
    Altering access table
    Creating table admin log

There seems to have been a slight problem with the database.

We need to see the real error message. Right-click on the error page and go to View/Source. Then copy-n-paste the error message here.

Strange. My guess is that you are installing vB 2.x and are running newer versions of PHP and/or MySQL that are not compatible with older versions of vB.

Which versions of PHP and MySQL are running on this server, and is there any reason you don't install the latest version of vB (3.6.4)?

yeah I have the latest version of mysql.

Reason why I am trying this is for a specific theme in which I cannot get intouch with the owner to see if he has an updated version. Ive been looking for a UBB type theme, and when I found one, the demo link is broken, but the download link works. So I decided to try it, and thats why im downloading and installing this on a test board.

I think that is the problem. The latest version of MySQL is not backwards compatible with vB2.

Styles from vB2 cannot be installed on 3.6.x and do make them compatible takes a lot of work and detailed knowlegde of both systems. I recommend looking for something similar which is compatible with 3.6.x (or whatever version you are running).

I was actually trying to get vB2 (posted earlyer) to use the vB style. I was in no way attempting to make it compatable with 3.6.x. There is also no UBB type style for 3.6.x as far as I know.
