    "Show threads from" field

    Is there a way to default this for all forums to "from the beginning" w/out going through each one?
    Thanks in advance.

        You can run queries in the SQL tab in phpMyAdmin, Or to run queries from the Admin CP:

        Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Execute SQL Query -> Manual Query

        Then enter your query in the Manual Query box and click on 'Continue'.

        To run queries you first need to give yourself permission to run queries in the Admin CP. To do this, edit this section of config.php:

        // ****** USERS WITH QUERY RUNNING PERMISSIONS ******
        // The users specified here will be allowed to run queries from the control panel.
        // See the above entries for more information on the format.
        // Please note that the ability to run queries is quite powerful. You may wish
        // to remove all user IDs from this list for security reasons.
        $canrunqueries = 'x';

        ...with x being your userid number.

          From what version of vB is Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Execute SQL Query -> Manual Query an option? I dont see it in 2.2.9. I tried running the command through phpmyadmin and now all forums display from last 30 days only. In the vB control panel, default view age is now at '0' for every forum...

          Thanks for walking me through it.

            Sorry, I'm not used to anyone running vB2 anymore. There is no way to run queries in vB2, and the ones I provided are not applicable to vB2. Sorry for the confusion.

            For vB2, you can run this query in phpMyAdmin:

            UPDATE forum SET daysprune=1000;

              Ok got it; that worked. Yeah, no problem. I know Im an antique. I just really like the layouts Ive tweaked from the vb2 templates. That's really the only reason Ive stayed with it. Is it still stable or am I running a risk by continuing to use it?
              Thanks,
              P

                You are running a significant risk of being hacked by not upgrading to the latest stable version.
