    mySQL Error Number: 2005

    I get the following database errors off and on. I'm on a dedicated server and my mySQL host name is correct so what could be the problem here?

    I usually only get these every once in a while, but on 5-7-04 I got 47 of these errors with different refere's on most.

    Database error in vBulletin :

    Link-ID == false, connect failed

    MySQL was down or cannot connect to your host, unless you are hosting mysql on another server you should leavel serverhost as localhost

      Is there a reason for leaving it named localhost?

      Also is there anyway to speed up the forum?

        localhost is always 127.0.0.1, and that is your own server, just leave it as localhost unless you have a reason to change it.

        Depends, do you own the server your on?

            Then i suggest posting in the server configureation forum and asking Eva2000 to optimize your server
