Do I need to have a seperate databse for VB?

I have a PHP poll on my website that uses MySQL - so I have a databse already set up for that. When I install VB now, do I need to create a second database for that or can I use the first one for my VB and my polls?

That depends on if there are any table names in the that that conflict with vB. If you install vB3 you can add your own table prefix and eliminate possible conflicts.
