    getting mysql connection errors....any ideas?

    any ideas on what this error means and how to fix? thanks

      I think the answer is in your question:

      I think the error is trying to tell you that it lost the connection to the mysql server during the query.

        would this be related to the max connection time = 30 in the mysql variables ?

          I have the same error.

          Our board isnt that busy but for some reason it has just started throwing up this error and also getting errors on th page when you try to view a thread.

          My host has increased the number of connections to the database but it hasnt helped any :(

            Sorry ignore me its not the same error, here is mine, I also get an error in the browser which I havent copied yet :

              Dont know what caused it, but apparently the mysql client began shutting itself off.

              I cleared out all the session and all the non-essential tables from the other mysql apps and re-installed the mysql and all seems ok.

              Weird. Hope it does not happen again though :)

                I wish I had access like that to the database on our site but its a shared machine so I guess I cant. However I do have access to our tables etc and I cant see anything wrong in there.
