    why did I finish this installation? http://www.matteocarucci.it/ I followed this step-by-step guide https://www.cionfs.it/come-installare-vbulletin-5/ with 5.0.5 I have no problem, why is this so?

    Actually your installation has mostly worked, much as it doesn't look like it because the style isn't loading.

    Here's how to fix it:

    In the root of your installation is a file named
    htaccess.txt

    Rename this to:
    .htaccess

    Note the period / dot at the start.

          Rewrite rules are not working on your server then.

          Assuming Apache:

          1. Check that mod_rewrite is enabled on the server
          2. In httpd.conf, make sure "Allow override" is set to "All".

          You may need your host's assistance with these.

              I solved by inserting the .hatcess file of a vb5.0.5 downloaded time ago.

                That seems odd but if it works then it's ok. There haven't really been any changes to the .htaccess file.
