upgrading from vB 4.2.3 to vB 5.2.6 style/theme questions

I'm about to take the plunge and upgrade to vB5. Is there a way to import the look and feel of my site (its customized style) into the new vB 5 theme? Or do I need to rebuild this from scratch? Has anyone dealt with this during their upgrade?

vBulletin 4 themes, styles and addons are completely incompatible with vB5 so will need to be rebuilt from scratch.

Well, that is disappointing. A forum can be the livelihood of a website. Making big changes can alienate the membership. I was hoping that vB would have foreseen this and developed a import/export tool for styles and themes. Is there anything like this that you know of at the .org site? I'm sure that most anyone upgrading has had the same issue.

No, there's no import functionality, sorry. The platforms between major upgrades are *completely* different. This is true of most forum software.
Templates and stylevars don't even use the same syntax. It would need to be done manually.

We have som styling guides though:
