You need to rename the file
htaccess.txt
to:
.htaccess
(note the dot at the start)
This file is in the forum root.
Your server is also not recognising index.php as a default file, hence you need to append this to the URL. This is a server configuration issue, your hosts can fix that.MARK.B

When I hit the upgrade URL after editing my config.php file with the proper database credentials, it does a URL rewrite and does this:
http://example.com/vb5... -
Site is
http://z31performance.com
The upgrade was successful, you can access the site through the http://z31performance.com/vb5 location
