Errors in code following upgrade

Following the upgrade from v5.1.7 to v5.2.4 the forum software is experiencing various issues. I have found a few errors reported in the error logs, listed below, although this may not be an exhaustive list. Can you suggest a fix for these issues?

You need to talk to your host. They have to disable open_basedir or add /tmp to the allowed path list.

Thanks. That resolved the issue and the forum was working OK this morning. However, another error has occurred - I'll raise a separate post for that.
