    Upgrading from 3.8.9 to 5.2.1 and got Action Required popup

    Upgrading my vBulletin from 3.8.9 to 5.2.1 received the following error:
    Action Required
    Unexpected Text:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?> <br /> <b>Fatal error</b>: Call to a member function fetch_userinfo() on null in <b>/home/<user>/<site>.com/forum/core/vb/string.php</b> on line <b>368</b><br /> Script: 500a28
    Step: 6
    Using PHP 5.6, MySQL server version 5.6.25

    Installation stalled and wondering how to proceed?

    Thanks,

    Dave

      Ok I completed your upgrade for you....

      You need to rename the file htaccess.txt from the download package, to .htaccess
      Make sure you put the dot / period at the front.
      Then upload that to the forum root so the site loads properly.

        Thanks Mark for the quick turnaround. Most things are working OK - but I'm having issues with uploading custom avatars (and while many of my users work OK, many also don't show on in the forums but DO show up when I look at the User Page in admin. Very strange...
