    Installation of 5.1.10

I am currently running 5.1.9 and wanted to upgrade to 5.1.10. I removed all the files from my core directory and replaced them with the new 5.1.10 files (after properly preparing the files by changing the extensions etc...) and after the upload was complete I removed the install folder as well. When I went to the site I receieved an error message.

Fatal error: Call to a member function hasAdminPermission() on a non-object in /home/mlienhard/public_html/core/vb/api/wrapper.php on line 172

    I am not sure why?

I have had the site hacked TWICE in the last week and wanted to update so that it would update security. I am still on 5.1.9 so any help is greatly appreciated to get to the next version so that it is not so vulnerable...
ALSO, is it possible to jump over versions? Can I just drop in the 5.2.0 patch on top of 5.1.9 without having upgraded to 5.1.10? Is there an easier way to upgrade without having to completely wipe out all the files?

You should upgrade to 5.2.0, not 5.1.10.

Download the FULL 5.2.0 package, upload all the files, and run the upgrade script.

I agree. Is there a specific way to load the files? Do I just blow away all the core directory on my FTP and load all the 5.2.0 files?

You don't need to delete what's there....just upload over the top, most ftp clients will ask you if you want to overwrite, make sure you say yes.

You download the files from the members area...they come as a zip. You unzip this, and then you will see a folder called 'upload'. You would upload all the contents of that folder (but not the actual upload folder itself). They should correspond with what you see on the server, if you are in the right place.

Thank you. I did this, and got all the way through the install process until step 20 where it got stuck. I couldn't get it to complete on that last step. It gave a "SQL server has gone away" error. But when I log into AdminCP it shows the new version in the top right...? I guess it went through. Another admin said that I needed to contact my host to have them increase packet size and timeout duration? I will look into doing that tomorrow, but I already had to remove the install files for security reasons, can I put them back on to complete the install?

Another quick question, if I were to pay for support, what is the response time if I wrote them an email? Also, is there phone support? If so, what are their hours?
