Upgrading from 4.2 to 5.1 fails at 5.0.0 a2

Does anyone know how to get around this error?
The upgrade process gets aborted at this stage....

Does a refresh of the page cure it?

As daft as it sounds, I have seen errors like this move on with a refresh....

No. It gets stuck at this stage and refresh brings it up again. I even tried from a different computer, it immediately jumps to this error.
