Sometime during the upgrade the system sent out Happy Birthday emails to thousand of members. We were contacted by Yahoo that Audiokarma has been black listed due to this. This upgrade has been the worst nightmare since we starting using vB back in 2002. I still can't turn the forums back on because of issues. Waiting on support ticket.

The upgrade also sent tons of database errors during the upgrade process that Yahoo saw as spam. Here are just a few:

Will continue to work on these issues in a test forums using a copy of the database I have upgraded. I had to restore the live site from a backup. The database upgrade did send over 5000 emails on database errors during the upgrade, but the test site is up and running. Still have issues with the empty categories between channels and errors or time out issues when trying to rearrange the channels to get rid of these blank category.Comment

It would only send upgrades it something was accessing the pages. A test forum should not be accessed by the public or bots. Sending the database error emails though is done on purpose to let the admin know something is wrong with the database.
For the birthday emails, you should turn off email services on your test forum within vBulletin under Settings -> Options -> Email Settings.Translations provided by Google.

With over 5000 error emails during an auto upgrade, is it even possible to make sure the database is correct? The test site is up and running but has layout issues, saving issues and a latency issue. Do I just submit a support ticket for present issues I'm seeing or does support need to see the error emails?Comment

If the system isn't continuing to throw database errors, then open a ticket or thread for the current issues.
For the layout issue, the most common cause of a bad layout after upgrading to vBulletin 5 is people do not upload the .htaccess file that is required.Translations provided by Google.

The file was uploaded twice: once for the live database and again for the test database using a copy of the live database. Same issues appear for both upgraded databases. A support ticket has been issued. You have asked questions on it and I have answered.Comment
