A lof of problems with VB5 installation

Hi,

I'm running into a lot of problems installing this (expensive) licence...

First of all, when I go to my install directory, I get the following error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function fetch_userinfo() on a non-object in /home/usr1/forum/public_html/forum/core/vb/api/user.php on line 650

When I go to the install manually:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/usr1/webshop/public_html/forum/core/includes/config.php:1) in/home/usr1/forum/public_html/forum/core/install/includes/class_upgrade_ajax.php on line 739

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/usr1/webshop/public_html/forum/core/includes/config.php:1) in/home/usr1/forum/public_html/forum/core/install/includes/class_upgrade_ajax.php on line 740

And When I start the installation:

<upgrade> <message replace="0">Connection successful</message> <status>Status: Installing, Step 2 of 7</status> <longversion>install</longversion> <version>install</version> <nextstep>2</nextstep> <upgradenotice>Installing</upgradenotice></upgrade>A fix would be nice...

Best Regards,
Xenoware

Is this an upgrade from vB4?

What versions of PHP and MySQL are you running?

What are the contents of your root config.php?

No, I'm running a clean install.

PHP 5.3.8
MySQL 5.1.61

Config is clean, except for database settings and site location

Please try www.yoururl.tld/core/install/install.php to start the installation, does that work?

//vB_Cache_Db- significant speed improvement and available to everyone.
//vB_Cache_Filesystem good performance, reduces traffic and load on db server. Not available to everyone- your web server must be able to write to the database.
//vB_Cache_Memcached excellent performance but usually only available to dedicated or virtual hosted sites.

Not sure what gone on there. Your configs look fine. Have you tried reuploading all the files to ensure there isnt something missing or become corrupt on the way up? I know I had problems with mine yesterday only to find it was a file in the end.

And When I start the installation:

</upgrade>

You have a UTF8 BOM or other character before the start of the config.php file, so before <?php.

If you save config files as UTF-8, it places hidden characters in the file that will cause the errors you're seeing. Always make sure any file you edit is stored as ANSI or ASCII text.

You should use Notepad++ to fix this.
